UPDATE!!!
Meghan Volunteers @ Elephant Nature Park!!! (Aug/6-12/2012)
For those of you who were kind enough to donate during our 1st event/campaign
HERE IS WHERE YOUR MONEY WENT!

Our donations helped expand and build new fencing for the Eles to roam on their own. Xoxo
All Peace For Elephants donations, from the last event, went to the building of the new fence around the park. As of now Buddhist scarves wrap protected trees around its perimeter.
TRUNKS! <3
A few of the many dogs at the dog shelter at Elephant Nature Park. Currently
there are 7 full time employees to over 260 rescued dogs. Most were rescued from
the flood of Bangkok last year, and the park is in the process of expanding the
shelters, which will included multiple large open shelters, and over 8 play
runs. Peace for Elephants was honored to name a recent rescued "Gracie" who was dropped off from someone in the local village. We hope to not only raise money for our elephant friends at our next event, but to also raise the vet funds for these sweet doggies.♥

We Did Not Support The Circus!!!
From March 20th to April 1st Ringling Brothers came to Brooklyn, NY and there were tons of supporters from P.F.E, PETA, and other local Animal Activists who spread awareness to those that attended. At each performance we let those who were unaware know that Elephants, Lions, and Tigers DO NOT perform tricks by choice. They are there because they are tortured and made to fear pain. It was amazing to talk to people that just thought that these were the "lucky animals" with "good jobs." We were happy to open their eyes.
Thank you to everyone that came out to help spread the TRUTH.
Here are just a few of our favorite shots from our 2009 visit to the Elephant Nature Park.

YOGA EVENT A SUCCESS!
We had a wonderful turn out for our first Yoga/Chanting evening...for elephants at Jaya Yoga Center in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Love and fellowship filled the room. Afterwards we met over Wine & Chocolate curtesy of The Chocolate Room in Park Slope and admired the beautiful works of art that will be up for silent auction at our upcoming June 17th event at the Tea Lounge in Park Slope. Details to come!

Thanks to all the wonderful people that donated their time and talents:
Sammi Friedman, Alex Mallett, Danielle Cohen,
Maddy Wyatt, Dana Perry, Sebhia Dibra,
and Tracey Petrillo-Smith.
Thank You HUNTER COLLEGE!
The wonderful students of "The Hunter Sustainability Project" are making huge strides to inform their fellow classmates about the footprint, we as humans, leave on this planet. Through out the week they had different themes involving food, water, waste, and transportation. Friday, June 21st was the day for Wildlife Conservation and we were happy to be invited to share our message.
We talked to many people and opened many eyes. Even if one more person stops supporting the circus or decides they will not support torturous elephant tourism...we made a difference.
*A special thanks to Naeemah for finding us and extending the invitation.*

P.F.E. was very happy to be invited back for a 2nd year to help spread our message. Through one conversation at a time we opened many eyes to the truths behind what is happening to the Elephant. xo
